Rockland

Rockland is one of my favorite places in Maine.  The traditional architecture, art galleries, museums, shops, and restaurants are what attract me to this lovely town.

Some of my favorites include the Atlantic Baking Co., the Farnsworth Art Museum, Dowling Walsh Gallery, G.F. MacGregor, and Rockland Breakwater lighthouse.

I love walking across the breakwater to take in the cool fresh air and see the gulls flying above. This time we were lucky enough to see several seals basking in the sun.

Hi Sarah,

You might even see a pod of porpoises sometime. I did one Sunday morning. I was at the very tip of the breakwater and saw something coming closer and closer. There were about 6 or 7 altogether. It was really something to see!

Brian,

I haven't been lucky enough to see a pod of porpoises, but it certainly is beautiful out there with Owl's Head Light in the distance. I'm hoping to buy at least one of your paintings . . . it's so hard to decide which one to buy without knowing what you'll do next. I've been on the verge of buying several, but I can't make up my mind. Since I'm an architecture fanatic my favorites are Winter in Maine, Snowy Day in Rockport, and Owl's Head Light. I'm hoping that you'll paint a typical New England Cape in the snow!
